Downtown Akron is again home to Ohio’s largest seasonal ice skating rink and a new 150 foot sledding hill at Lock 3 that promises thrills for little ones and affordable fun for families.
Holidayfest is Downtown Akron’s wintertime celebration, with more than twenty separate arts and entertainment events scheduled between Thanksgiving and First Night. Akron’s popular downtown event space will also feature its annual Holiday Market in the German cottages at Lock 3, the annual Downtown Lighting Spectacular, and the 25th annual “Welcome Santa” parade.
Presented by First Merit Band and with support of the Akron Community Foundation and other local businesses, most of the costs of Lock 3 events will be paid from private contributions.
